nogameschicago.com presents The Five Olympic Myths.
Myth 1 is that it will boost our local economy. The only peope who will make money is the IOC, contractors, and insiders. The people will get stuck with the bill. City after city the Olympics go over budget and with our track record there is a good probability that we would go over budget too. For example Millennium Park went over double the budget from $150 million to a final total of $475 million and the Dan Ryan’s budget was $550 million and the final cost was $975 million. Now image a project the size of the Olympics.
